The Carlsbad Gap from School II of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is based on a real gap in California that was shredded by skaters from around the world!

This iconic Carlsbad Gap was located at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California. From a quick glance it may look like any ordinary obstacle that a skater would be crazy enough to attempt. However, its funky angles, height, and surprisingly sketchy landing made for a difficult challenge for even the greatest skaters out there. Anytime someone landed a trick here, skateboarding fans knew it required major skills and guts!

Anyone looking to skate this spot today is unfortunately out of luck. Back in 2012 the school went through renovations and the gap got demolished. Thankfully, the Tony Hawk series has eternalized it in the School II level which is playable in, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, Tony Hawk’s Underground, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, and most recently in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. Keep the legacy of the Carlsbad gap alive by shredding it in one of the games from the series!
